I’ve been a volunteer firefighter from my bachelor days, starting out with CFA in the Leitchville Fire Brigade and then transferring to Sunbury Fire Brigade due to work changes.

My first stair climb was in 2019 and my fundraising was very simple – asking friends and family to chip in.  I raised a total of $1067.

The problem is I won my age group and this gave me a bit of a bug to see if I could do it again.

The along came 2020 and 2021 and the stair climbs were suspended with the pandemic and virtual stair climbs were run.  Between the two years, I scratched together $150, so my progressive total was $1217.

Then with my next effort being in 2022, I used my business to generate the lion’s share of funds, with less emphasis on family and friends, although they did kick in.

Below is the business contribution to my overall fundraising total of $5,326 for the 2022 Climb, giving my running total a boost to $6543.

Then with my next effort being in 2023, again my business generated the lion’s share of funds.

Below is the business contribution to my overall fundraising total of $5,623 – almost identical to last year.

My running total for the five years stood at $12,166.

2024 – here we go again.

My total raised including the below was $4,264, taking my total raised to $16,430.

2025 – here we go again

This year I am aiming for a total of $20,000 raised, so this year’s target is $3570.
